Meet Rocio

Hi, I’m Rocio Ruiz, an Argentinian ceramic artist and the founder of MIST Art Studio.

My journey with clay began nine years ago and developed during the six years I lived and worked in Mexico. There, I had the opportunity to explore different ceramic traditions, materials, and firing techniques while building a deeply hands-on relationship with the craft.

Today, I create handmade ceramics from my studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. Every piece is individually formed using a combination of wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques, including pinching, coiling, and slab building.

About Mist Art Studio

MIST Art Studio is rooted in nature, curiosity, collaboration, and the rituals that make everyday life feel meaningful.

My work moves between functional pottery and sculptural objects, with an organic style that celebrates warmth, movement, and imperfection. I’m inspired by natural forms, travel, food, community, and the small moments we often overlook—sharing a meal, drinking from a favorite cup, lighting a lamp, or bringing flowers into a room.

Each piece is made slowly and intentionally in small batches or as a one-of-a-kind object. My hope is to create ceramics that bring joy, invite connection, and become part of your own daily rituals.

I also share my love of clay through pottery workshops, artist collaborations, custom projects, and wholesale partnerships.

Meet the Studio Assistants

Life at MIST Art Studio wouldn’t be complete without Bronco, Cenizo, and Sasha—my very dedicated team of studio assistants and quality-control managers.

They supervise long studio days, inspect kiln loads, provide emotional support, and occasionally remind me when it is time to take a break. Bronco has been beside me since the early days of my pottery journey and still takes his quality-control responsibilities very seriously.
